I'm not in too creative of a mood and I did write a little so atleast I wrote right? Writing a little is better than not writing at all... Ugh it's going to be another hour before Melinda is out of her class what the heck am I going to do until then? I'll probably sit here on the computer wasting time when I could be working on something productive, whether for school or for my own personal future of writing... I'm a little less down than I was before. That's good at least. Ooh, I bought Joe Versus the Volcano the other day! I love that movie! It's so underrated I think. Meg Ryan is absolutely adorable and amazing in it (she pulls off three very different roles quite well I think). The mythology and philosophy of it, the whole concept of the hero myth, is presented so funny and sun whimsical that it's like your own little adventure. (Says in his best Peter Falk impression): "It's got everything. Adventure, comedy, islanders, volcanos, sea voyages, shipwrecks, explosions, miracles, true love!" I am forever in debt to Kristin for showing me the movie because I doubt I would have ever even heard of it otherwise. Katie Summers works at Barnes and Noble. I knew this already because Ian had mentioned it, but seeing her that was another thing. She run me up for the DVD. I'll end this with some memorable quotes from Joe Versus the Volcano: "Where's my friend, where's my friend?" "Do you have any whiskey?" "No." "I wanna hire you, Joe Banks. I wanna hire you to jump into a volcano." "On second thought, I do have some whiskey." "Not a nice place you have here Joe!" "I have a braincloud." |
