Well I just got done taking my mythology exam...not sure how that one went...and Kristen informed me that I didn't put the T/F answers on the scantron sheet for my philosophy test (I thought we were supposed to circle them on the test), but she said not to worry, and that if I circled them on my test and my test had my name on it, it should be okay... Not to worry, she says. If you ever get the chance to see a movie entitled "Barbarella" do so just because Jane Fonda is crazy naked in it ALL the time! And the effects are kinda...psychadelic...Ah..the 60s...women were the hottest in the 60s in my opinion. I started looking at how I was going to rewrite "On Eagle's Wings" today. "On Eagle's Wings" was the movie Ian and I were working on before he got cancer. Now that we're almost done with "A Song for Eve" (which we should be finished shooting in March), we need to think about our next project...which reminds me.. Was at the office on friday so I could put a plate on the hole in the back door, and first I got my car stuck in the drive. A young black guy and an older black woman came to help me out. First hte guy came over and he was pushing on the car for me, then the older woman came over and said for me and the guy to push on the car while she backed it up...THAT made a me a little nervous, not because they were black because I could care less if they had been white or asian or hispanic like me, but because we were in the GHETTO where I bet if I threw a stone I'd hit a crackhouse... She didn't steal my car, though... But the creepy neighbor did come over and talk my ear off (about crackhouses and weed and how hot my girlfriend is and how he's been 'securing the buildin') and ask for money...I have him some change and said I didn't have any cash. He went and bought a beer... That night Mel, Ian, Danielle and I all went up to grand rapids to see "Aliens of the Deep" which was pretty cool. We saw it at hte IMAX in 3d. My bio teacher had suggested seeing it to my class so I went. The movie is about the deep sea exploration near the vents where creatures live in darknesss, get their energy from vents that shoot water at 750 F (which doesn't boil because the pressure is so immense). These things are sooo cool, they glow, they don't look like normal shrimp or jelly fish, they are so beautiful and they can swim in and out of the water (which is 32 F or practically freezing) and the vent temp (750 F) as if it were nothing! Just amazing. The movie was only 50 minutes long and spent a lot of the time talking about Jupiter's moon Europa which they think, beneath the ice crust on the outside, has an ocean were there would be similar vents like the ones here that might cause life. I would have liked to see more of the actual creatures and hear less about the scientists and the Europa possibilities, but as my bio teacher pointed out (and the thought occurred to me to as I thought about how much time it takes to shoot a scene) that what they showed was all the footage they had. It is expensive to go down there. After the film we went to The Liquid Room which is a pretty cool place in GR that doesn't serve alcohol, but expresso oriented drinks and they have bands there on fridays (not the friday we went, unfortunately) and have board games you can play and you can just hang out. i really liked it. Well, this entry has gone on long enough about pretty muhc nothing, so adios! |
